A wide panel of glazed Iznik ceramic tiles shows a tall dark green cypress tree in the center, flanked by sweeping red tulips, blue carnations, and white hyacinths growing from a small cobalt vase on each side. Classic sixteenth-century Ottoman Iznik style: brilliant white quartz-frit ground, deep cobalt blue, turquoise, emerald green, and raised tomato-red bole slip, with crisp dark outlines and flat glossy color. Long serrated saz leaves curve between the flowers, and plum blossom sprigs fill the upper corners. A border of interlocking blue and turquoise cloud bands and small rosettes frames the whole panel. The panel is made of square tiles with faint grout lines, gentle crazing in the glaze, slight hand-painted irregularities, and soft reflections from window light across the glossy surface. Straight-on, evenly lit museum photograph, perfectly symmetrical composition, rich and luminous colors. Wide landscape 16:9. No people, no hands, no text, no letters, no calligraphy, no logos.
